On Saturday the 13th of February, Denny Morrison will be called to the starting line of the 5.000 meter event in the second pair.

He will start in the inner lane against American Trevor Marsicano, who surprisingly ended on the podium during last years World Single Distance Championships on this distance. Marsicano is considered an outsider for the podium.

Dutch favorite, Sven Kramer, will be early in the programme, in pair 11 against American Gold Digger Shani Davis.

Pair 13: Skobrev (RUS) vs Fabris (ITA)

Pair 14: Bokko (NOR) vs Hedrick (USA)

Chad Hedrick is the defeading Olympic Champion in this distance, but has put his focus this year on the 1.500 meters.

The programme starts on 12 pm Vancouver time.
